It has been a little over three months since I moved to NY. Going through my photos makes me realize how much I’ve done. Sure, I’ve spent many hours writing (research proposal, journal, morning pages, to do lists) but I’ve also gotten out to explore.

Being back in NY this time around is different for me. When I first moved here in 1998, I was immature, naive, a pure optimist. I still have those traits in me… but now in varying degrees.

I attempt to look at the world through a new lens. Seeing it this way makes me appreciate what I have. We all forget sometimes. We get busy, tired, disconnected.

I’ve been there myself. I don’t want to go back there.

Now I try to experience and capture what matters.

YN’s snaps hot! (no extra charge for gratuitous anagrams).
Quintessential Yon combination of poignant prose and prodigious pics. And speaking of appreciating what we have, the privilege of knowing Yon suddenly leaps to mind.
