I’m in the process of processing.
I spent four intensive days packed with classes to become better at my craft.
I shared my story with others. I listened…a lot.
I met editors who will become part of my world in the near future.
The high point of my weekend was listening to the legendary Amy Tan talk about her trip to China, upcoming book and her life as a writer.
When asked why she writes, she answered, “Because I will die one day…”
I think I understand.
We write to convey our thoughts, dreams, reconcile our fears.
We write to nourish a part of us that is starving for attention, love, answers.
And maybe, just maybe, our soul is preserved when we decide to put pen to paper.
