In Santa Barbara, the weather is what you would imagine perfection to be like.

In Santa Barbara, you feel like there is no need to rush, to run, to hide.

I lived in this resort town for 18 months while figuring out my way in the world. While I was here, I adopted Butters. From my apartment, I saw the beach everyday. I learned about self-acceptance and optimism. In my job, I felt productive, valued and even loved.

Now I’m taking off to get to know a different side of me. One that craves creativity, self-expression and exploration. I am off to nurture the person who loved sharing words and images with you over the past four years.

As you know, I’ve had many ups and downs. And during those times of doubt, you gave me a reason to believe.

A few months ago, I watched the movie “Epic.” And while it’s a cartoon, I learned an important lesson from it. Toward the end of the movie, Colin Farrell’s character says, “Many leaves, one tree. We’re all individuals, but we’re still connected. No one’s alone.”

Surely, Colin is right.

Dear Yon, I’m so happy that you’re back on trip and enjoying sunshine 🙂
So many times I wanted to leave you comments but often I didn’t know what to write but instead just wanted to give you a hug in person — which I will do for sure next time I see you.
