Streamlining for Airstream

In the past, I’ve lived in spaces measuring 500 square feet, some 700 sq ft and all the way up to 1150 sq ft. Now with this Bambi, whose square footage is so minimal it would give IKEA’s space designers a run for their money, I’ve been contemplating the how I can best use the space and what essential items I would need.

The Airstream trailer’s spaces are well appointed, however, I can’t really display photos, books or my cast iron Remington Noiseless typewriter. I mean I could but I would sacrifice the kitchen counter or the bed. When I was a kid, a question was posed to me, “If you were stranded on a deserted island, what things would you want with you?”

Traveling in a Bambi would not require such dramatic cuts but this afternoon I assessed my belongings and identified essential items required for my happiness and success. They are listed below in no particular order.

1) Butters (she takes up very little space anyway.)

2) Freshly brewed Cappuccino (with my stovetop espresso maker.)

3) What I consider my “Top Shelf” books.  Those books that have inspired me.

Some writing materials, lip gloss and that’s pretty much it.  I’m all set.
